Former NFL QB Ryan Leaf appeared on the show yesterday and said he thinks, based on his own experience that Caleb Williams should sit for a year because he just isn’t ready to start for an NFL team quite yet. Leaf has taken quite a bit of heat for his opinion but Dan has his back. Who could understand what Williams is facing better than an infamous top pick NFL Draft bust?
Dan Patrick: “It’s not outlandish to say it. I think people are reacting that way...That’s just (Ryan Leaf’s) opinion. He played the position. He failed at the position. He understands the pressures of the position, therefore; I would look at him as an expert. Probably didn’t think he’d be an expert on this situation, but he is because he went through it and said he should have sat for a year.”
