Baltimore Ravens RB Derrick Henry joins Dan Patrick on The Dan Patrick Show. He talks about the start of his career coming out of high school and playing at Alabama. He says changing the perception of running backs in the NFL and improving their market value was simply about playing better. He talks about the difference between “testing speed” and “football speed” when it comes to how fast he is on the field. And he makes a deal with Dan to get a role in an Adam Sandler movie if he reaches 2000 yards this season.
Dan Patrick: “When did the shift go back to now running backs are valued with you and Saquon (Barkley)?”
Derrick Henry: “Yeah, like we had that big commotion about it like a year-and-a-half ago and the market was really sad. You know, we wanted to do something about it, and I think the biggest solution was play better.”
