We've seen it before: A classic song appearing in "Stranger Things" gets new life decades after its release (think Kate Bush's "Running Up That Hill" or Metallica's "Master of Puppets").

The latest beneficiary of placement in the show is David Bowie, whose "Heroes" is the final song played in the long-running Netflix series.

The 1977 classic experienced a nearly 500% spike in streams in the days following its inclusion in the final episode of the series.

Bowie wasn't the only one to get a boost from the show: Joe Keery, who plays Steve Harrington in the series, is also known as Djo to music fans.

His 2022 track "End of Beginning" took the #1 slot on Spotify’s Global Chart this week, displacing Taylor Swift’s "The Fate of Ophelia," which had held the top spot for several weeks.
