Cavs Snap 2 Game Losing Streak With Stellar 116-95 Win In New Orleans

NEW ORLEANS, LA--- Wow, what a win and what a way to start a key 3 game road trip, The Cavs are now tied for the Bucks for 2nd in the East after a big 116-95 win over the Pelicans in New Orleans. We would see Jarrett Allen reach his career high 33rd double in a single season after a 17 point and 10 rebound performance. Another big performance would come from a returning Donovan Mitchell, who would nail 4 3 pointers in the first half, but that would be the story for the Cavs as they would absolutely light up the Pelicans with 3 pointers.

The Cavs shot lights out from behind the arc in the first half, 11 for 25 from deep, making a total of 20 throughout the game. The Cavs used the 3 pointer as their primary source of scoring, until about 4 and a half minutes left in the 3rd quarter, the Cavs would score 33 straight points from behind the arc. The Cavs had 6 players in double figures, including 2 players who were red hot from 3 point range in Sam Merrill (15) and Georges Niang (16) both shot 50% from 3 point range. Other players who scored in double figures included Damien Jones with 14, Garland with 27 points, and Donovan Mitchell with 14. The Cavs would also pass the ball very well, so well in fact they set a new season high in assists with 38.

The Cavs will have 2 days off before their next game Saturday afternoon in Houston facing the Rockets, tip off is set for 5:00 pm.
