Hawks Soar Past Cavaliers to Advance to Playoffs

CLEVELAND. OH -- The Cavaliers looked to be in full control of the game in the first half, leading the visiting hawks by as much as 14 points, but the tides would eventually turn. After scoring just 4 points in the first half, Trae Young caught fire after halftime, becoming virtually unguardable off of the pick and roll offense. Behind a scorching Trae Young, the Atlanta Hawks were able to cruise to a 107-101 win to send the Cavaliers home.

The Cleveland Cavaliers offensive game plan went stale in the second half, with the Cavs resorting to a pick and roll then nothing style offense that got them nowhere. Stretch forward Lauri Markkanen led the charge offensively for Cleveland, scoring 26 points on 10-17 shooting. Darius Garland had a rather quiet night scoring, finishing the night with 21 points on 9-27 shooting from the field.

Trae Young was red-hot off the pick and roll, continuously lighting up Markkanen in a clear mismatch, going on to score 38 points with 9 dimes to go along. Bogdan Bogdanovic played the spark plug role off the Atlanta bench, scoring 19 points on an impressive 6-8 shooting.
