MEMPHIS, TN -- An already short-handed Cavaliers team got news right before tip-off that guard Collin Sexton was scratched from the game due to a sore ankle in which he rolled the night before in Orlando. With virtually no point guards on the roster, Cleveland head coach JB Bickerstaff was a mad scientist switching up the matchups constantly throughout the game. The Cavaliers shot a lights out 43% from beyond the arc on their way to a 94-90 win over a scuffling Grizzlies squad.
Cavaliers big man Andre Drummond set the tone for Cleveland in the second half following a quiet four point first half. Cleveland ran the offense through Drummond, who scored 18 second half points. Up by one point with under 30 seconds to go, Andre Drummond found a wide open Isaac Okoro under the basket for a slam dunk. The Grizzlies looked to tie the game before the final buzzer but air balled the attempted three ball.
Larry Nance Jr could not miss against the Grizzlies, knocking down 7 of 7 shots, including hitting all four three point attempts. Cedi Osman hit big shot after big shot for the Cavs down the stretch on his way to a 16 point night.
The Cleveland Cavaliers snap their two-game losing streak and will look to get back in the winning column on Saturday evening. The Milwaukee Bucks will host the Cavaliers on Saturday, tip-off set for 8:00 pm ET at Fiserv Forum in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Check out highlights from tonight's victory below!
