Tuesday on 2 Pros and a Cup of Joe, Cowboys' Stephen Jones gave an encouraging update on the recovery timeline for Dak Prescott, but Jonas Knox, Brady Quinn and LaVar Arrington explain why it's better to say nothing than to raise expectations.
Brady Quinn: "Maybe this offense while Dak out is going to have to evolve around the quarterback position so that the quarterback doesn't have to be the hero, and maybe that's a good thing for this group... I don't really understand the need to rush him back."
LaVar Arrington: "It's an ill advised way of approaching it. Manage expectations. Under promise, over deliver. Saying he's ahead of schedule puts him in a bad spot... Once you go down the road of, 'ahead of schedule,' those are the words of death for an athlete, man."
Jonas Knox: "I don't understand, but maybe this is just par for the course when you've got Jerry and Stephen Jones who have multiple hits a week on Dallas radio. They just have to talk and talk and talk."
