Co-Anchoring 'NBC Nightly News,' Kate Snow Interviews Voters In Cleveland

Senior National News Correspondent Kate Snow is interviewing Ohioans and co-anchoring NBC Nightly News from Cleveland on Saturday (October 31), getting a sense of what matters to voters in the “critical state.”

NBC switched Ohio from a red state to a toss-up, cleveland.com reported. Viewers can catch Snow anchoring in The Land on Saturday at 6:30 p.m. on WKYC.

To prepare, Snow has been speaking with a range of voters, including some who will choose not to vote for the candidates of either major party, and one who won’t vote “because she feels like it doesn’t matter,” among others, cleveland.com reported.

“We could have gone anywhere in the country,” Snow said. “But we wanted to be somewhere that is essential in this presidential election, somewhere where it really matters. Ohio is a critical state and Cleveland is a critical city.”

The recently-conducted Great Lakes Poll showed that Ohio voters were split nearly 50-50 on whether or not they approved of President Donald Trump’s job performance in the weeks leading up to Election Day.

Survey participants also weren’t confident that Trump would concede if he loses the general election to Democratic challenger Joe Biden, with 53.6% of responders saying they don’t expect the president to concede and another 21% unsure.

Both candidates were in Cleveland for the first presidential debate on September 29, held at Case Western Reserve University.

“My role on election night is to drink some coffee,” Snow added. “We owe our viewers whatever it takes to present everything we know until we have a resolution.”
