Why Don't We Details 'Vulnerable' New Album During Album Release Party

Why Don't We's highly-anticipated second album, The Good Times and The Bad Ones has finally arrived, and the guys celebrated during their exclusive iHeartRadio Album Release Party, during which they performed some of their new music, answered fan questions from a few lucky Limelights via Zoom, and opened up about their most vulnerable album yet.

The Good Times and The Bad Ones follows Why Don't We's 2018 debut album 8 Letters, and features ten new songs including their hit "Fallin' (Adrenaline)." The new project is self-penned and co-produced by the group, and something the band has been wanting to make for a long time.

During their iHeartRadio Album Release Party, Why Don't We performed several songs from The Good Times and The Bad Ones, including "Slow Down," "Fallin' (Adrenaline)" and "8 Letters" ˇfrom their 2018 debut record.

Aside from performing their new music, the guys also listened along to some of their The Good Times and The Band Ones songs, shared some behind-the-scenes footage from the making of the project, and talked about the album during a special Q&A hosted by iHeartRadio's Maxwell.

Why Don't We explained of their new album, "8 Letters holds a special place in our hearts, because it was our debut album, but I also said earlier, this album, The Good Times and The Bad Ones, we've dreamed of making since we started this band. This album is even more personal, and in some cases, even more vulnerable than any of the music we've ever put out. Just that alone feels crazy from our end because it's literally our lyrics, our melodies, our feelings straight to the music, to the fans."

The band's Corbyn Besson added later on of how The Good Times and The Band Ones came to be, "[Daniel] had played, I think, 'Lotus Inn' for a fan in New York one time, and it kind of kickstarted this idea of like, 'Why aren't we putting out the music that we make?' And that was just kind of big for all of us, and we had had a few conversations with some fans about just being a little burnt out by the last year and some people were kinda starting to tell, a little bit, that we weren't doing exactly what we wanted to do and what we felt like we were capable of doing. And so that really sparked the conversation between us to really sit down and be like, 'Who do we want to be for ourselves and for our fans? And what are we really capable of? And can we do it?' And that's the challenge we put upon ourselves and I'm so glad we did."
