Jose Ramirez Wins AL Silver Slugger Award

CLEVELAND, OH -- It was announced on Thursday evening that Jose Ramirez won the AL Silver Slugger award at 3rd base for the 2020 season. It is his third career silver slugger award, he previously won the award for the 2017 and 2018 seasons.

During the 60 game season, Jose played in 58 games hitting .292 with a .993 OPS, having a total of 64 hits, 17 of those being home runs along with 16 doubles, 46 RBI and scoring 45 runs.

Jose joins these other American League silver sluggers for the 2020 season. Chicago White Sox first baseman Jose Abreu, Yankees second baseman DJ LeMahieu, White Sox shortstop Tim Anderson, Angels OF Mike Trout, Blue Jays OF Teoscar Hernandez, White Sox OF Eloy Jimenez, Royals catcher Salvador Perez, and Twins DH Nelson Cruz.

We will find out next week if Jose Ramirez will win the AL MVP award when it is announced on November 12th. He is a finalist for the award alongside Jose Abreu and DJ LeMahieu.
